If you enjoy making amigurumi, here I share this easy and free amigurumi pattern for you for free. Your kids will love these toys.

YARN
For this project I decided to use Hobbii Baby Cotton Midi (for crochet dinosaur body) and Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/8 yarn (for eggshells). I did this for two reasons. Firstly, the toys were meant for a little girl so I needed yarn that would be child safe. Both yarns are OEKO-TEX certified and made of natural fibers so it’s a perfect choice in this case. Secondly, I’d never used it before and wanted to try how it behaves and looks. I must say I am really happy with both, especially with the Baby Cotton Midi – superb and really great to work with.

I used following colors and quantities:

GREEN Crochet Dino
Baby Cotton Midi:
– 10 Eucalyptus (I will call it ‘green’) – 1 skein
– 07 Sky Blue (I will call it ‘blue’) – few meters
Rainbow Cotton 8/8:
053 Pastel Yellow (I will call it ‘yellow’) – 1.5 skeins

PINK Crochet Dino
Baby Cotton Midi:
– 11 Light Rose (I will call it ‘pink’) – 1 skein
– 10 Eucalyptus (I will call it ‘green’) – few meters
Rainbow Cotton 8/8:
038 Lavender (I will call it ‘violet’) – 1.5 skeins

AMIGURUMI DINOSAUR ASSEMBLY
First, attach the feet onto the body. You may need to try different feet positions because depending on how you stuff the belly, the toy may balance slightly differently. Using pins check out which feet position allows your crochet dinosaur to balance (i.e. not fall). Then, attach belly path onto the belly. Again, you may want to pin it first to find best position. Lastly, sew in dino’s arms.

Also, if you’d like to add some character to crochet dino’s face then you may create a wrinkle in the nasal area. In order to do it just pinch the toy as shown in the image to create the shape and the using yarn in the color of the body and tapestry needle sew around (don’t sew very tightly).
